8. Baggage Restrictions

There are a few baggage restrictions to consider whilst travelling around Peru.

Trains to Machu Picchu:

All trains to and from Machu Picchu now have a 6Kg Limit on baggage.  If you are staying overnight at Machu Picchu you may store excess luggage free of charge at your Hotel in Cusco.  Alternatively if you are travelling from the Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu we will store your excess luggage for you free of charge and it will be waiting for you at your Hotel upon your return to Cusco.

Amazon Jungle:

All Lodges in the Amazon Jungle have a 6Kg limit on baggage.  Excess baggage is stored at the Lodges offices in Puerto Maldonado for no additional charge.  It is best to rearrange your luggage before arriving at Puerto Maldonado to prevent holding up the transfer to the Jungle Lodge.

Internal Flights in Peru:

Internal flights in Peru have a 22Kg limit so are rarely a problem.  Excess baggage charges can be steep so pack carefully!
