Classic Inca Trail - Day 2

Wayllabamba - Pacaymayo (Challenging) (B,L,D)

After breakfast, we begin the part of the trek which is considered `the most challenging day´ of the trail.

We wake up early to get a good start. The landscape will change from small villages and farmland to the sub-tropical forest where we’ll stop for lunch around Llulluchapampa.

From here we start a steep ascent towards the highest point – Dead Woman's Pass (4,220mts/13,779ft). There is an amazing sense of Achievement upon reaching the top.

We will continue downwards 600m / 1,980 feet over 3 km (1.8 miles) through humid forest until we reach our campsite – Pacaymayo in the early evening.

Total walking distance today is 11kms (7.2 miles) ranging from 10,000 to 13,780 f.a.s.l.
