Along this Affordable Machu Picchu Vacation, you will visit Archaeological sites throughout Cusco and the Sacred Valley of the Inca such as Tambomachay, Puca Pucara, Qenko, Sacsayhuamán, the Coricancha, and others - then onto Machu Picchu for one or two days. Relax on the scenic First Class bus which takes us across the high Andean plains to the historic city of Puno, which lies on the shores of Lake Titicaca, while stopping at all the interesting Inca and Colonial sites on route.
This longer Luxury Machu Picchu Vacation gives you the chance to visit Lima properly before flying to Cusco. We have suggested the Lima Gastronomic and Lima City Tours however there are several more to choose from, some of the choices are shown below on Day 2 of the itinerary.
Visit the highlights of Cusco & the Sacred Valley of the Inca. Visit Machu Picchu one of the Seven Wonders of the World for one or two days. Take the First Class Tourist Bus to Lake Titicaca and visit the Uro people who live on floating reed islands in the middle of the Lake.
Enhancements
The trip by First Class Tourist Bus between Cusco & Puno (Lake Titicaca) is some 9 hours long although this trip is broken up by visits to several places of interest on route.
Other options include a one hour flight or the Luxury Orient Express Andean Explorer Train, which is fabulous, but does add some $200pp to the vacation. The price of the Luxury Train varies by season, please ask for details for your dates of travel.
